Mariano Romulo joined the Surf family from Nowland Premier Soccer Academy Foundation (NPSA), an organization for underserved youth to develop soccer skills and an understanding of the game through professionally-coached training programs. At NPSA, Mariano taught a developmental program for youth players with up to 50 to 60 participants in a session and provided a pathway for the players to learn the game and compete at the premier level.
Since 2009, Mariano has participated with RCL and PSPL premier clubs, assisting head coaches and managing teams at Evergreen FC, Washington Rush, Tynecastle FC, NW Nationals, FC Edmonds, and NPSA.
Mariano is a father of three, with his oldest daughter in college in the health field. His other two children are in high school and played premier soccer for many years at NW Nationals.
Mariano grew up in a military household, living in Kent, Washington, Memphis, Tennessee, and Tampa Bay, Florida. Mariano also works at Seattle Public Utilities providing water quality inspection services to the communities. When not coaching, Mariano enjoys time with family, friends, camping, barbeques, history, yoga, and arts.
