Miranda Armstrong will be coming into Surf as a continuing coach from FC Alliance. She has 11 years of collegiate coaching experience, five of those as a head coach, and 11 years of club coaching and being a goalkeeper trainer. She also is in her third year coaching as a part of the Washington ODP program and into her second year as a Region IV camp coach. She is a substitute teacher at Lakeside school as well as in her 8th year as an Assistant coach for the boys and girls soccer programs. She has taken six teams on International trips to Aruba (two times), Peru, Italy, Australia, and Brazil to represent the United States in friendly matches. Also now Assistant Coach for Olympic Sports Academy (OSA) of the WPSL. Miranda holds her USSF B, USSF National GK, NSCAA GK and NSCAA Premier licenses.
A Washington Native, Miranda grew up in Snohomish and later moved to Oak Harbor where she attended High School. At OHHS Miranda was 3 sport athlete and the team captain of Soccer as well as earning All-Wesco and All Area honors where she played in the goal and on the field. She was also voted female athlete of the year. She attended Seattle University where she earned Most Inspirational award and was a leader in assists while earning her Bachelors in Business. After college, she started the women’s semi-pro team for the Hibernian Saints Soccer Club. She played with that team, while serving on the board, for four years and had several honors including Top Trainer, Super Select, Sponsors MVP, Assist leader and Team Captain. She then played with the Seattle Sounders for one year prior to moving to become a full time college coach and earn her Masters degree in Business. While on the road she played in the WPSL for the Thomasville Dragons where she earned player of the week honors, and game MVP honors. She had 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 games played.
Miranda now resides in Kenmore with her husband, garden, dog and cat.
